    Question

does anyone know any models that will fade the film to white in the camera? fade in and fade out would be nice. and if you could select between white and black that would be a bonus.

Basically the fade is achieved by either opening or closing the aperture. If you "open" the aperture, it will "blow out" the picture, it might not be white, but it will look very overexposed.

If you drop down the f-stop (aka fade), the picture will go to black.

To fade to black, your f-stop will end up at around f-22, therefore the smaller the f-stop number is at proper exposure to begin with (f2.8, f-4, f 5.6,) the more dramatic the fade.

To brighten to "white", your f-stop will end up around f1.4-f1.8. Therefore the smaller the f-stop is at proper exposure, f-16,f-11,f-8, the more dramatic the f-stop overexposure shift will appear as the aperture "brightens" towards f-2.8.
